Dear readers, I publish quite a lot: books & columns. Often people ask me about publications they want to read again or that they missed. Thanks to WIX, I - as a pure digital amateur - have build this website/blog where I will, gradually, post some of my publications.
The name refers to my keen ability to watch or observe. People tell me - and flattered in my vanity I tend to believe - that I'm a person who has a sharp vision or who maintains a keen watchfulness. And that's exactly the eagle eye.
But there is more. The eagle is the only bird who avoids rain by soaring above the storm clouds. And this is exactly the attitude we should have in crisis-times. Be an eagle!
And finally, JS MIll states that names have denotation, not connotation, but I rather prefer Saul Kripke's' intermediate view (in his book "naming and necessity) that names are rigid designators. The name "aernoudt" refers to its origin: a Celtic (or Norman/German) personal name composed of the elements ‘aran’ (eagle) and ‘walda’ (rule). So its meaning is something like ‘ruling as an eagle’. But to rule, you have to observe. The power of the eagle is in its view.
